Learn What “Constitutional Carry” (Texas Firearms Carry Act of 2021) Does and Does Not Do!
“Constitutional Carry” (technically, the Texas Firearms Carry Act of 2021) goes into effect on September 1, 2021.
• Is there still a reason to have a Texas License to Carry?
• What about reciprocity in other states?
• What about signage- are there signs that can prohibit Constitutional Carry, but not licensed carry?
• What about federal school zones: are all types of handgun carry now exempt, or not?
• What about types of holsters permitted for open carry? (This has changed!)
• Do license holders still get the fast lane for firearm purchases by avoiding the federal background check?
• How are school district employees better protected with a Texas License, than practicing Constitutional Carry without a license?
• Texas License holders get “Oopsies” at airports; do people who carry without a license?
These are important questions, and you should know the answers! We want to give everyone in our large service area the chance to get these answers before they have to decide whether to get (or renew) a Texas License to Carry, as well as an hour of shooting practice on our range (optional).
Date & Times: Saturday, July 10, 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM. During the last hour you will be able to shoot 50 rounds on the pistol range to keep your hand in! There will be no lunch break.
Instructor: Ed Morris
Certified NRA pistol instructor, a licensed Texas attorney, and certified by Texas Department of Public Safety to teach the Texas Concealed Handgun License Course. This is a legislative update class on the current state of the carry laws in Texas as of Sept 1, 2021, and is NOT the Texas License to Carry Class. If you already know you are going to get or renew your license to carry, and if you don’t have any questions, you don’t need this class. We will set a License to Carry Class in the near future.
Minimum Age: 18, or 14 if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The location of the Saturday classroom and shooting will be the JE Ranch on the edge of beautiful Palo Duro Canyon, about 45 miles SSE of Amarillo. A map will be provided to you upon receipt of your preregistration (see below).
Bring a notebook or notepaper, pen or pencil, and checkbook if you’re not prepaid. And dress casually.
Cost: $75 per person course fee.
